Abstract
AbstractThe total area of agricultural land under gravitational irrigation. Gravitational irrigation methods, also known as surface irrigation, are those in which water is applied to the surface of the soil and distributed in the field by gravity, through the difference in heights or levels existing in the land to be irrigated. Under these conditions, the irrigation flow decreases along the field because the water infiltrates the soil, producing some degree of runoff at the end of the irrigation basin, the magnitude of which will depend, among other factors, on the flow applied and the characteristics of soil infiltration. It is expressed in hectares (Source: National Irrigation Commission).
