Surface area of those sectors where the vegetative cover of all plant formation (including herbs, shrubs and trees) does not reach 25%. These categories include beaches and dunes; rocky outcrops; lands on the altitudinal limit of vegetation; lava and slag run; landslides not yet colonized by vegetation; salt flats; river shoals, and others without vegetation, (source: FAO).
