Surfaces covered by water, whether natural or artificial, permanent or temporary, stagnant or flowing, fresh, stagnant, or salt water, including areas of saltwater, the depth of which at low tide does not exceed 6 m. Surfaces include the following categories: herbaceous vegetation permanently flooded on river banks, herbaceous marshes temporarily flooded by the sea; herbaceous ñadis and shrubs, peat bogs, bogs, meadows, other wetlands (Source: FAO).
