Database Specific Abstract AbstractTotal area of soils covered by grassland and shrubland.The grasslands have plant formations where the coverage in the herbaceous plants exceeds 10% and trees and shrubs have a coverage of less than 10% (in the case of the altiplano and high Andean steppes). In the case of annual, perennial, central Andean and Patagonian grasslands, the percentage of coverage of the herbaceous biological type exceeds 25% and the coverage of trees and shrubs is less than 25%. (Source: FAO). The shrublands are of plant formation where trees make up less than 10%, the shrub can be from 10% to more than 75%, and the herbaceous plants can be between 0-100% (Source: FAO)".
